The Mid-Peninsula High School Back-to-School BBQ was a little late this year. Despite the delay, because of Hetch Hetchy construction going through the parking lot this summer, the school community found a great time to come together to enjoy food and fun. The entire community, students, staff, and entire families, came together to celebrate a new school year.
The food was phenomenal. The BBQ was provided by Troy Henderson Sr. and the side dishes provided by Mid-Peninsula parents. The students worked hard and sold fantastic desserts at a bake sale with the proceeds being used to help fund their prom next spring.
There were a large number of activities included in the day. The perennial favorite is the dunk tank, in which the Head of School, Doug Thompson loves to take a turn. A variety of others followed, getting dunked by the tall and the small. There was a bouncehouse and a hampster ball that were in constant use. A new addition to this year's BBQ was Karaoke! There is nothing better than Journey's Don't Stop Believin' to wind up a great day.
A HUGE thanks to Connie Mobley-Ritter, Barbara Rains, Julia Lovetti and the Parents Association who planned and sponsored this event as well as Troy Sr. who cooked some awesome BBQ!
