In May 2011, Mid-Peninsula’s Board of Trustees formed a Capital Campaign Committee to raise $2,000,000 to make improvements to the campus entrance (now completed), and build a Performing Arts Center adjacent to the main school building.

Over the following 18 months, the Committee - consisting of trustees plus current student and alumni parents - have worked diligently behind the scenes to obtain initial funding for the Mid-Pen Celebrates Community Campaign.

As of October 2012, just over $900,000 has been received in cash, pledges, and in-kind donations

Palo Alto architect and former Trustee John Northway, and his team at Stoecker and Northway, have produced an exciting, dynamic design we are proud to share as we enter the public phase of the Capital Campaign.

The Performing Arts Center:

  • Total 1,804 sq ft of indoor classroom space: 306 sq ft music area, 1,498 sq ft drama area.

  • 295 seat amphitheater. Center roll-up door allowing the theatre to be used throughout the seasons creating an outdoor theater or an indoor black box theater.

  • Provides space for expansion of Mid-Pen’s arts curriculum, including substantial growth in the drama and music programs.

  • Will free up two classrooms in the main building to other academic programs.

  • Offers the entire Mid-Pen community a place to gather for assemblies, performances and special events.

  • Increases Mid-Pen’s visibility with neighboring community access to our expanded facilities.

Help make this building a reality by making a generous contribution that will strengthen the Mid-Peninsula High School arts program now and forever.

Performing Arts Center construction begins once $1.2 million is committed.

Contributions are fully tax-deductible and may be funded over 3-5 years.

We would also like to thank Brian Rodriguez and Jim Stoecker for creating an attractive, inviting entrance and plaza.
